Water is allocated across the scheme via a water rights system which allows farmers and producers to consume a set volume of water within peak (November 1 - March 31) and off-peak seasons (April 1 - October 30).

It is every water right holders responsibility to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of water right licenses and adhere to allocated volume allowances. Should water right holders exceed their allocated volumes, a penalty consumption charge will be issued currently set at $140 per megalitre. CLIS supports trading of water rights between holders to ensure allocated volumes are not exceeded and actively encourages license holders to buy, lease or sell water rights.

Below is a list of irrigators who are currently looking to buy, lease or sell water rights. Please note it is the vendor and the purchasers responsibility to make initial contact with each other and reach a suitable outcome. Once details are finalised the relevant transfer forms need to be completed and lodged with CLIS who with the assistance of administration support at Newton & Henry will arrange necessary details. Transfers are not finalised until lodgement of signed documents are received from both parties and confirmation is provided by Newton & Henry.
